Our Impressions
This started out as a rainy dreary day. We went running in the late summer rain in the morning and lounged around hoping for better weather. Finally, in the late afternoon, the sun started shining. We were debating between going to the beach and taking a nice stroll. Sheldon said that he drove past the Camp Smith hike many times and suggested we give it a try. He did not realize that this was no walk in the park but a strenuous 6.4 mile hike to Anthony’s Nose, which we climbed before using a much shorter route.
Unfortunately, it was super humid and hot after the rain and pretty late in the afternoon to start a strenuous 6.5 mile hike. On top of that, we were not properly dressed for hiking. We neither wore our hiking boots nor came prepared with our hiking backpacks. We could not complete this beautiful hike on this day but knew that we would come back there in the near future.
Please stay tuned for our next post about the Camp Smith hike, where we complete this hike in its entirety.
